£180.00 per night. One Simple Price all year for the entire boat for up to 8 people!
NB Maddison is taking bookings for the 2024 / 2025 boating season!
£100 minimum or 10% deposit will secure your booking dates. The balance is settled two months before your cruise date.
Fair & Simple Hire Fees, Easy Booking & No Hidden Charges
Family Friendly & No prices rises for Bank Holidays, School Holidays or when the weather is better in summer. As "family first" people, we don't see why you should pay more to be together on holiday in higher seasons or when your children are off school. That's why we only charge a flat rate of £180 per night all year, with a £65 mandatory Insurance per booking.
Fuel Increase Prices - We all know the fuel price increases are impacting on everyone. We've taken the decision not to change our inclusive fuel policy for your boating holiday. This means to take a cruise aboard Maddison, the hire fee you see, is the total hire fee. No extras whatsoever.
Personal Contact - You can actually call and speak to us, WhatsApp or Email. There's no automated booking and payment systems to navigate. You can call or WhatsApp us on 07477643432 or email canalhire@gmail.com to either book, enquire about a booking or get answers to any questions you may have. You will need an email address to complete the booking process.
No Late Booking Discounts - Because we want to be fair to our returning guests and families who book early, we don't offer any late booking discounts. So don't hang around and wait for those late booking discounts.
Your Pets - We welcome well behaved dogs aboard our boat. One medium size or two small breed dogs are welcome aboard. There is a £45 fee, per dog, per week or part week. So please tell us in the Booking Request form below if you would like to take your pet along.
No Extra Charges - We don't charge for the fuel you use* the gas* or your parking* for two cars only or freshly laundered bedding and towels.
Start and End days - In July & August, these are on Saturday, where the boat is returned at 10am and is available to go back out at 2pm when we've re-stocked the boat with fuel, water and linen supplies. So even if the calendar below shows the boat booked on the final day of a guests holiday, it will be available for you to take out at 2pm that same day. (See Minimum Booking below)
Alternative Start Days - We like to be flexible with your bookings. So other than July & August, you can choose to begin your cruise on any day of the week at no extra charge. If we can fit you in, we will. There is a minimum 3 night booking outside July & August.

Booking & Requirements
Age Restrictions - We accept bookings from a minimum of 2 people, who are able to steer the boat and operate the locks and are 21 years of age or over.
Maddison is not a "Party Boat" - We don't automatically accept bookings from same sex groups without prior agreement. Please call us to discuss your needs if this may apply to you.
Minimum Booking
3 Nights. Start & End any day of the week - During March, April, May, June, September and October, the minimum booking is 3 nights.
7 Nights. Start & End on Saturday - For bookings ending in July and beginning in August, the minimum booking is 7 nights and multiples of 7 nights.

How The Calendar Works

BUSY - Means the boat is booked.
BLUE - Means the boat is FREE TO BOOK You can start your holiday on the last day of a period shown as booked on the calendar.
AMBER - Means the boat is FREE but there are booking restrictions. For example, 7 Night Bookings Only.
Change-over Days - The last day of a booking where the boat is returned at 10am and is available to go out at 2pm that day. So even if the calendar shows the boat booked on the final day of someone's holiday, it will be available for you to take out at 2pm that same day.
Out Of Season - Our canal boating season normally runs from March to the end of October. This is because Canal River Trust schedule their maintenance and repairs during winter time which means closing some locks and sections of canal impacting on any planned route.

Complete the Booking Request below and click on Submit. When you select the number of nights you would like to book, you will see the total hire fee displayed. There is nothing extra to add other than a small fee for bringing your dogs along for the trip.
We'll then email a booking proposal with details of how to make a 10% (Min £100.00) deposit to secure the dates on our booking calendar. The balance of the booking fee is due 2 calendar months before your booked date.
